Therapy for Caregivers & Life Transitions
This is a space for people who give everything to others — and are finally ready to feel held themselves.
You're in the right place if…
You don't need the right words. You just need to recognize yourself here.
How I help
No formulas. No pushing you toward someone else's version of healed. Just honest, grounded work — at your pace.
Caregivers
"I give everything to others. There's nothing left for me."
We address the emotional weight of caregiving and help you rebuild without abandoning the people you love.
Life Transitions
"My life is changing and I don't feel steady."
Parenthood, loss, identity shifts, new roles — we create space to grieve, integrate, and find your footing again.
Overwhelm & Burnout
"I'm so tired of feeling like I'm drowning."
Burnout is a nervous system pattern, not a personal failing. We build real capacity to come back to calm — not just manage the chaos.
Self-Reconnection
"I don't recognize myself anymore."
We help you reclaim your voice, reconnect to your body, and find your way back to yourself — not a prescribed version of healed, but an authentic one.
Parenting & Family
"I'm trying to support my kids while barely holding myself together."
When you're trying to support your child while feeling stretched thin yourself, we create space for both — so you don't have to choose between your needs and theirs.
What makes this different
Most people have tried talking about their problems. This work goes deeper — and slower, on purpose.
Nervous system first
Real change happens when your nervous system learns it's safe — not just when you understand why you feel the way you do.
Your pace, always
Sessions move at the speed your system can actually tolerate. That's how healing sticks instead of just passes through.
Safety before depth
Building a felt sense of safety — in the room, in your body — is the work. Everything else follows from there.
What to expect
Some sessions will feel like turning a corner. Others will feel quieter, slower. Both matter.
Held and moving
Sessions have presence and purpose — you'll feel supported and gently moving forward at the same time.
Safety in your body
We notice what your body holds and work with it as real information. Slowly, your system starts to feel safe enough to release what it's been carrying.
No judgment, no rushing
Messy, tired, unsure — all of it is welcome. You won't be pushed before you're ready. This space meets you exactly where you are.
Real tools, not just insight
We build skills that change how your system responds over time — not strategies to white-knuckle through hard moments, but ways to genuinely come back to calm.
Serving Atlanta & Georgia
Burnout doesn't always look like collapse. For caregivers and parents navigating life transitions, it often looks like functioning — showing up, getting through, managing everything — while feeling completely disconnected and overwhelmed underneath.
Emotional overwhelm doesn't stay contained to one person. When a parent or caregiver is struggling, it ripples through the entire family system. Myrna works with individuals, parents, and children — supporting the whole picture, not just one piece of it.
Identity loss, exhaustion, and the disorientation of constant change are real. They live in the body as much as the mind. And they deserve more than coping strategies or a list of things to try.
Myrna works with people who are ready to stop just surviving — and start finding their way back to themselves. She offers in-person therapy in Decatur and Peachtree Corners, GA, and virtual sessions throughout the state of Georgia.

Hi — I'm really glad you're here.
I believe healing comes from finally feeling seen and met in the places we keep hidden. I work with people who are simply carrying things that are too heavy to hold by themselves.
My job isn't to hand you a formula or push you toward someone else's version of healed. It's to sit with you in the hard places, help you make sense of your story, and walk alongside you as you find your way back to yourself.
I integrate trauma-informed practices with person-centered therapy — to help you reclaim your voice, calm your body, and strengthen your capacity to navigate life's challenges. So that loop finally starts to loosen.
I won't promise the work is easy or quick. But I can promise that all of you is welcome here — the parts that feel stuck, the parts that are tired of trying so hard, and the parts that still believe something different is possible.
I also support children and families, especially when emotional overwhelm or life transitions are impacting the entire system.
This counselor is under the clinical supervision of Amber Amick, LPC, NCC, CPCS, and under the direction of Mikayla Ruggieri, LCSW. This structure ensures ongoing support, collaboration, and high-quality care within the Kula Wellness Group team.
Common questions
No question is too small. Here's what people often want to know before reaching out.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
If something feels off — even if you can't name it — that's enough. You don't need to be in crisis. Therapy works well for people who are functioning but quietly struggling, and for those ready to stop just coping and start healing.
What does somatic therapy actually feel like?
Gentler than most people expect. We might slow down and notice what's happening in your body — a tightness, a held breath — and work with that as real information. It's not about going to hard places fast. It's about helping your body feel safe enough to release what it's been holding.
What if I feel overwhelmed all the time?
That's exactly the kind of work we do here. Chronic overwhelm is often a nervous system pattern, not a personal failing. We work together to understand what's keeping your system activated — and build real capacity to come back to calm.
What if I don't know how to explain what I'm feeling?
You don't have to. Many people come in not knowing where to start. We'll figure it out together — slowly, without pressure. You don't need the right words. You just need to show up.
Do you work with children or families?
Yes. I work with children and families, especially when emotional overwhelm or life transitions are affecting the whole system. Often, supporting both the caregiver and child creates more lasting change.
Take the first step
That flicker of belief that brought you here? That's exactly where we start.
You don't have to keep doing this alone. Reaching out is the hardest part — and you've already done it.
