Nervous System + Somatic Work
Understanding regulation, capacity, activation, embodiment, and thoughtful ways of integrating body awareness into clinical work.
Professional development shouldn't feel like checking a box.
Kula is developing continuing education experiences for counselors who want practical, thoughtful training they can carry out of the classroom and into the therapy room.
Grounded in clinical practice, nervous-system awareness, and the realities of being a therapist, our trainings will be designed to help clinicians deepen their understanding, strengthen their skills, and feel more confident doing the work.
CE stands for continuing education. For counselors and other mental health professionals, learning doesn't stop once a degree is finished or a license is earned.
Continuing education can include trainings, workshops, conferences, webinars, and other educational experiences designed to help professionals continue building knowledge and clinical skills throughout their careers.
Depending on the program and applicable licensing requirements, qualifying trainings may also provide continuing education hours that professionals can use toward license renewal requirements.
And while earning the hours matters, we think the learning should matter too.
There's a difference between sitting through a training and walking away knowing what to do differently on Monday morning. Kula's educational experiences will be built with real clinical practice in mind.
Built around situations clinicians actually encounter — not just theory in isolation.
Tools, frameworks, examples, and skills you can bring into your work.
Exploring mind and body together rather than treating them as separate systems.
Because therapy happens in relationship — and the person of the therapist matters too.
Complex ideas translated into language that makes sense and can actually be used.
Learning that leaves room for complexity and nuance instead of pretending clinical work always has one right answer.
Our educational experiences are being developed primarily for counselors and mental health professionals who want meaningful opportunities to keep learning, questioning, and growing.
Some programs may be designed for a particular profession, license type, or level of experience. Each training will clearly identify its intended audience.
Kula's educational programming is being developed around areas that intersect with the work we already care deeply about.
Understanding regulation, capacity, activation, embodiment, and thoughtful ways of integrating body awareness into clinical work.
Working thoughtfully with trauma while understanding pacing, safety, relationship, nervous-system responses, and clinical boundaries.
Burnout, boundaries, capacity, countertransference, sustainability, and remaining human while doing clinical work.
Identity changes, reproductive experiences, grief, transitions, parenting, and the complexity of women's mental health.
Moving beyond “just try harder” toward practical, affirming ways of understanding attention, motivation, planning, and follow-through.
Boundaries, decision-making, documentation, technology, dual relationships, and the gray areas clinicians actually encounter.
Developing as a counselor, giving and receiving supervision, navigating professional identity, and building clinical confidence.
Caseloads, capacity, interdisciplinary work, boundaries, and building a career that remains aligned with the person doing it.
We want you to leave knowing more — not just having heard more.
Learn the research, concepts, theories, and frameworks that help make sense of the topic.
Slow down enough to notice how the material shows up in people, bodies, relationships, and clinical work.
Translate learning into questions, interventions, tools, decisions, and practices you can actually use.
Not necessarily.
Some Kula educational experiences may offer continuing education credit, while others may be professional-development workshops, consultation experiences, or educational events without CE credit.
We believe that distinction should always be easy to understand before you register.
No. Kula's continuing education and professional-development offerings will be open to clinicians outside of Kula whenever appropriate for the training.
Not necessarily. Some topics may also be relevant to social workers, marriage and family therapists, psychologists, or other helping professionals. Each event will identify its intended audience and any professions for which CE credit is being offered.
We're exploring both. Future offerings may include live in-person trainings, live virtual education, workshops, and additional learning formats as the program grows.
No. A program will specifically state when continuing education credit is offered. Educational workshops that do not carry CE credit will be clearly identified as such.
Many of them will be. Part of Kula's educational work is intended to support counselors as they move from graduate education into the much more nuanced process of actually becoming a therapist. Individual trainings may have different experience requirements.
Absolutely. We want this program to respond to what clinicians actually need. Join the interest list below and tell us what you would most like to learn about.
We want Kula to become a place where clinicians can come together to learn, question, practice, connect, and continue becoming the therapists they hope to be.
